Sharing a Game
Share your game with coaching staff, team management and players for collaborative review and analysis.
Overview
Tagger provides two methods for sharing a game with others — whether that is a coaching colleague, a member of team management, or a player reviewing their own performance. Both methods are simple to use and require no technical knowledge on the part of the recipient.
Recipients do not require a Tagger account to view a shared game. Shared games are presented in a read-only Dashboard view, meaning anyone with access to the file or link can open and review the game without signing up or installing anything.
Method 1: Direct Tagger Link (Recommended)
The recommended approach is to generate a direct Tagger link and distribute it to your team. When a recipient opens the link, they are taken directly into the Tagger Dashboard in read-only mode — no account, no installation, no friction.
This method uses Google Drive to host the game file and requires the recipient to have an internet connection.
Steps
1. Download the game file
From the Share page, click Download Game to export the current game as a JSON file to your device. Alternatively, use Game menu → Save to save the file to your preferred location.
2. Upload the file to Google Drive
Open Google Drive and upload the JSON file to a suitable location in your Drive.
3. Set the sharing permissions
Right-click the file in Google Drive and select Share, then Share again. Set the access level to Anyone with the link — this ensures recipients can open the file without requiring a Google account. Click Copy link to copy the file's shared URL to your clipboard.
4. Generate the Tagger link
Return to the Tagger Share page and paste the Google Drive link into the text field. Click Generate to produce a direct Tagger Dashboard link for the game.
5. Distribute the link
Send the link to your team members via email, a messaging app, or any other channel. On supported devices, the Share Link button will open your device's native sharing options for added convenience.
6. Recipients open the game
When a recipient clicks the link, they are taken directly into the Tagger Dashboard where they can review the full game in read-only mode — no account or installation required.

Tip: If your game includes video, host it on YouTube so that team members can watch the footage alongside the game data. Set the YouTube URL as the video source when creating the game, or update it later via Game menu → Edit → Video.
Method 2: Manual File Sharing
If you prefer not to use Google Drive, you can export the game file and send it directly to your team members. The recipient then imports the file into their own Tagger session.
Steps
1. Download the game file
From the Share page, click Download Game to export the game as a JSON file to your device.
2. Send the file
Distribute the file to your team members via email, a file-sharing service, or any other method of your choosing.
3. Recipients import the game
Once the recipient has the file, they can load it into Tagger via Game menu → Open → Local File. The game will be imported and ready to review immediately.
Choosing a Method
For most teams, the Direct Tagger Link method offers the best experience — recipients simply click a link and are taken straight into the game, with no file handling required. Manual file sharing remains a practical alternative for situations where Google Drive is not available or where recipients are working offline.
