Totals based Charts
Configure Bar, Stacked Bar, Radial and Pyramid charts from your pre-configured totals.
Introduction
Totals based charts are built from the totals you have already configured, rather than from raw events. That makes them more flexible than Event Charts — any combination of Count, Calculated, Event Duration and Play Time Duration totals can be brought together in a single chart, so you can compare measures that live in different parts of your configuration.
They are configured in the Total Charts tab.
Where to Configure Them
- Open Configuration.
- Select Charts.
- Open the Total Charts tab.
The tab offers four chart types — Bar Charts, Stacked Bar Charts, Radial Bar Charts and Pyramid Charts. Select a chart type to open the list of charts already configured for it, then use New to add another.
Before You Start
These charts are assembled from totals, so configure the totals you need first:
- Count Totals for counts of events and linked events
- Calculated Totals for simple arithmetic between two totals
- Formula Sets for multi-step calculations

The Chart Editor
All four chart types work in the same way. Each chart has a Chart Name, an Enabled switch, and one or more totals. Add a total, choose its Total Type, then select the total to use.
The Total Type can be any of the following:

| Count | A count of events, optionally filtered by team, zone, labels and linked events. |
| Calculated | A simple calculation combining two other totals. |
| Event Duration | The accumulated duration of an event, such as total possession time. |
| Play Time Duration | The accumulated time between two events. |
| Formula | A Formula Set, for more complex calculations. |
When you choose a Formula total, the value of the formula reference must be numeric for the chart to display it.
Preview
Each chart has a Preview panel showing how it will look.
The preview uses data from the current game. If there is no game in progress the preview will not display any data.
Bar Charts
A bar chart shows one bar per total, which makes it the simplest way to place several totals side by side — for example Shots, Goals and Turnovers for each team.

Bar Chart Columns
Each row in this table adds a column to the chart.

| Column Name | The label shown for the column. |
| Total Type | The type of total this column is based on. |
| Total | The total to display, chosen from your totals of the selected type. |
| Formula | For a Formula total, the formula to use. |
| Reference | For a Formula total, the reference within that formula. |
Stacked Bar Charts
A stacked bar chart splits each column into segments, so a single column can show several related totals stacked together. It has the same Chart Name and Enabled settings as a bar chart, plus two nested tables.
Series Names
Series are the segments that make up each column, and they are shared across every column in the chart. Define each series once:

Stacked Bar Columns
Each row adds a column to the chart. Each column represents one or more totals — one for each series.

| Formula | For a Formula total, the formula to use. |

Radial Bar Charts
A radial bar chart gives each total its own segment, which suits percentage-based totals such as shooting accuracy or share of possession. It has the same Chart Name and Enabled settings, plus a Chart Totals table.

| Calculated Percentage Total | Shown for Count, Calculated, Event Duration and Play Time Duration totals. Select the percentage total to display. |

Pyramid Charts
A pyramid chart shows each total as a step, which is a clear way to present a progression — for example a funnel of possessions by outcome. It has the same Chart Name and Enabled settings, plus a Chart Totals table.

The shape of the chart follows the order of the totals, so drag the totals into the sequence you want.
Displaying a Chart
Bar, Stacked Bar and Pyramid charts offer two views, chosen where the chart is displayed:
- Overall Total — the totals for the whole game.
- Period Totals — the same totals broken down by period.
Radial bar charts always show a single overall breakdown.
Using Charts in the Dashboard
Totals based charts are not available in the Standard Dashboard. They can only be added to custom dashboards, through the Dashboard Designer.
A totals based chart cannot be deleted while it is still in use. If a chart is referenced by a dashboard or a report, remove it from there first.
